Getting involved in the mental health community changed my life. I recommend it to all those who are seeking to become more open about their mental health condition or looking to feel accepted by those around them. Online, on social media and other blogging platforms mental health advocates are speaking out. Follow and keep up with these resources to find ways of getting involved and to remind yourself that you are not alone.
Get Involved With NAMI
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is a nonprofit grassroots mental health education, advocacy and support organization. I began volunteering with NAMI in 2014, and it was lit the fire to begin advocating for mental health in our community by sharing my story. If you would like to volunteer, donate or are in need of support, please go to the NAMI website and see all they have to offer. You will not regret it!
Get Involved on Your College Campus
If you are a college student looking to get involved in the mental health community, check what your college/university offers in the area of mental health.
