We see and hear that mental health is being talked about more than ever. This is true. However, the topics we are failing to acknowledge are not only the most important, but if not recognized, they are the most deadly.
The first step towards progress is creating awareness about the problem at hand. Too many beautiful souls are dying every day because they feel alone, ashamed, and hopeless. But there is hope, and it starts with us—community support.
Here are just a few shocking suicide statistics that are important for you to know.
When you are at the edge of life and feel like hope is gone, remember that your emotions are blinding you to the beauty of who you are. Step back, because you are strong enough to do so, and know that you do have a purpose in this world—that purpose is to help others in that same spot. We need you. We see you. We love you.
If you know someone in need of help or if you are struggling with suicidal thoughts, please contact the suicide hotline.
